Tour Location

History Of The Las Terrenas

Las Terrenas was once a small fishing village with only a small dirt road accessing it. Electricity was brought to Las Terrenas in 1994 and with light came those who wanted to explore a newly developed area. Even today, the Samana peninsula is secluded and untouched. With the most palm trees per capita in the world, this is one of the most picturesque areas Dominican Republic has to offer. Las Terrenas has over 19 km of untouched beaches to explore, some you may even be the only person enjoying it.

If you have a love for Bachata, and would like to experience it at a deeper level, I’m talking roots and culture, i highly encourage you to book Bachata Paradise 2020.
They call it a festival, and If it is that, it’s the best one I’ve attended hands down!! The organisers of this event have created something special with this event and I think it’s genius.
It’s an opportunity to get a glimpse of what Bachata means to the country that birthed it by immersing yourself in the culture for 4 – 10 days.
There is no way this event doesn’t double or triple in size in the next few years. Its that good.
It cannot be taught or told, it can only be experienced.
    Bachata Paradise….well done!

There are no words to recommend enough this festival. I am new to the world of Bachata, even newer to Dominican Bachata and I could not have had a better entry into this world.

The care Phil Chapman puts in every detail really shows. He was always ready to help us with any problem. We stayed at La Residencia el Paseo and it was just lovely, very central, practically on the beach and with a swimming pool that hosts 2 pool parties within the festival.

Food was great both at Bruno’s Bar for breakfast and at Las Palmeras for dinner with a great buffet always full of choices.

The classes and workshops were amazing, with unique teachers like Edwin M Ferreras and Dakota Romero, Julie Girard Carlos Gómez Susan de Beras Yernan Flores and many many others.

Great animation troupe, thanks for your energy and all the dances.

Great night outings (Bodega, Carwash, Pescadores take over) where you had the dance to also see the locals dance and dance with them.

There isn’t a thing I would not recommend.

I can’t wait to go again, go go go!
